Jobos
About This Spot
Stepping into Jobos feels like discovering a hidden gem tucked right in the heart of downtown Tupelo. The vibe is relaxed yet lively, where the hum of friendly conversations blends effortlessly with a soundtrack that nods to the 80s and 90s — a backdrop that invites you to settle in and stay a while. The space has a warm, welcoming glow, with touches of playful Hawaiian flair that add a colorful, casual spirit without overpowering the genuine Southern hospitality that frames every visit.
Jobos strikes a rare balance: it’s unpretentious but thoughtfully crafted, making it an inviting spot whether you’re catching up with friends, enjoying a quiet evening on their balcony overlooking Main Street, or entertaining visitors looking for a taste of local flavor with a twist. The pace here feels just right — attentive, without ever rushing, allowing you to savor the moment as much as the meal.
The kitchen offers an intriguing blend of Southern comfort with subtle Asian influences, which unfolds in dishes that surprise with their layers of flavor and texture. Whether it’s the tender pork belly tacos with their perfect crispy char, or the zingy freshness of ginger scallion noodles, there is a comfort food feel elevated by thoughtful seasoning and presentation. And when a fresh mojito or a creative mocktail arrives, it’s clear that the bar menu is designed with the same care — a companion to the food that keeps the experience light, refreshing, and fun.
What truly sets Jobos apart is the feeling of being looked after — the kind of place where the staff knows your name or your preferences by the second visit. This isn’t about formality but a sincere warmth and attentiveness that turns a meal into something quietly memorable. It’s a place made to savor small human moments: the clink of glasses, the easy laughter, the shared delight in simple things done well.
Whether you’re drawn by curiosity or the comforting promise of familiar-yet-distinct flavors, Jobos offers an authentic local experience that lingers — not just on your palate but in the feeling of having found a spot that feels like a home away from home.

Sure, here is an updated version of the review with the addition of comments about the evening drinks: **A Culinary Delight with a Touch of Enchantment** From the moment I stepped through the doors of this charming restaurant, I was enveloped in an enchanting atmosphere that promised a culinary adventure. The warm glow of the lights, the gentle murmur of conversations, and the tantalizing aromas wafting from the kitchen created a symphony of senses that set the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. While I didn't have a furry companion in tow, I noticed a designated outdoor area for dogs. While the intention was commendable, I couldn't help but notice the presence of spiders, which slightly detracted from the charm of the space. However, once I stepped inside, any lingering concerns were quickly forgotten. The indoor ambiance was nothing short of captivating. The décor was tastefully curated, creating a blend of rustic elegance and modern comfort. The soft chatter of fellow diners mingled with the gentle clinking of silverware against plates, forming a harmonious soundtrack that complemented the delectable feast that lay ahead. My culinary journey began with the French toast, a true masterpiece that danced across my taste buds. The perfectly toasted bread was generously coated with a sweet, custardy batter that was infused with hints of cinnamon and nutmeg. Each bite was a symphony of flavors, leaving me craving more. The service was equally exceptional. Katelyn, the morning server, exuded an aura of patience and kindness that instantly put me at ease. Her attentiveness and genuine warmth made me feel like a valued guest, not just another customer. Destiny, the evening server, was equally impressive. Despite being relatively new, she handled every request with grace and professionalism, ensuring that my dining experience was nothing short of perfect. And let me not forget the drinks. The evening cocktails were an absolute delight. Just one sip of their signature margaritas was enough to transport me to a state of pure bliss. The expertly crafted concoction was a symphony of flavors, perfectly balanced and refreshingly invigorating. It was the perfect way to set the mood for the evening's culinary adventure. While some dishes on the menu might not appeal to every palate, the items that aligned with my preferences were sure to delight. The freshness of the ingredients, the skillful preparation, and the creative combinations of flavors were evident in every bite. Overall, this restaurant offered a delightful dining experience that exceeded my expectations. The enchanting atmosphere, the delectable cuisine, the exceptional service, and the amazing evening drinks created a memorable culinary adventure that I would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone seeking a taste of culinary excellence. Thank you for the warm hospitality and the opportunity to savor these culinary delights!

Very nice place with excellent service. Love the decors and ambiance. We enjoyed the nice weather on their balcony facing the lively downtown part of Main Street. Maggie was our server and she was AMAZING and her food recommendations did highly impress us. I will be back and this gives me a great place to invite family and friends when they come to town. If you want to impress someone definitely bring them here! You will not regret it. Tupelo really needed something outside the box such as this one.

Staff was very attentive and professional. Food was quite good. Jobos advertises as Surf and Turf with a Southern twist but I would describe it as a fusion of southern and Asian flavors. The pork belly was excellent in the two dishes we had. 4/17/25 - returned to Jobos. New menus, food wasn’t as good. Parm fries were awesome. Nice and crispy and well seasoned. Jobo’s butter burger was good but way too aggressive with the salt. Side of slaw was awful. Watery, sort of bitter, just awful. The entree prices have become very high, so I’m not sure if I will try them again or not.

First time visiting & it was AMAZING! The food was really good. I enjoyed the Jobos burger. We had the opportunity to meet the owner and he was very welcoming, along with his amazing staff. Definitely recommend everyone to try this restaurant. Service/food was great.

Quirky, Hawaiian themed eatery in Tupelo, highlighted with 80’s and 90’s soundtracks. Great, family friendly service and food with California influences. Pork belly tacos were crispy with a slight char on the outside and tender with a touch of salt. Catfish tacos were crispy and moist with a sweet tangy sauce. Jobos introduced a happy hour, which was a nice addition! As always, Sam was her friendly and helpful self. Always appreciate her helping our team with recommendations and great service!

First time visitor in town for an Ole Miss football game and wow what a pleasant surprise. After a long day in The Grove and stadium was looking for a late dinner option and found Jobos. The burgers were delicious, cooked perfectly and the waitress was attentive to all our needs. Will definitely be back next visit.

We visited Jobos on a Monday for date night, and it didn’t disappoint. The buildout is fun, colorful and packed with nods to tropical travel. The menu feels just as fun and exotic (a little pricier yet totally approachable). We ordered the guacamole/salsa appetizer, split the burger and got a side of Mac and cheese. The ingredients were fresh and flavorful. We particularly enjoyed the chips with guacamole. It came topped with smoky bacon, feta + fresh tomatoes and had a mild chipotle-like spice swirled throughout. Also, their fountain Diet Coke mix is the best we’ve had in Tupelo. Our waitress was a literal saint and kept them coming!
